Commending Reverend Asa Dorsey; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Reverend Asa Dorsey has followed the call to serve as the mountain residents of northeast Georgia for the past 70 years; and

WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the troubled, baptizing a new believer, or any of the other countless responsibilities of a minister of the Gospel, Reverend Dorsey has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and

WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Dorsey is a source of strength, inspiration, and direction for persons in all walks of life and from all economic strata; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious man.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Reverend Asa Dorsey for his unparalleled record of community service and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Asa Dorsey.
